APOLLUSKIN®: new efficacy data on the harmful effects of indoor pollution on the skin

First launched in 2013, APOLLUSKIN® is a protective antipollution active ingredient derived from dandelion, a plant known for its detoxifying properties. It allows the skin polluted by cigarette smoke, urban pollution or chemicals to recover the characteristics of a radiant skin.

Today, modern lifestyles are such that people spend more than 90% of their time indoors. Thus, SILAB Research brings new efficacy data demonstrating the capacity of APOLLUSKIN® to limit the harmful effects of indoor pollution on the skin. Many factors are involved, in particular biological (household allergens and molds) and chemical pollutants (mostly volatile organic compounds, VOCs).

In a context of repeated exposure to dust mites (Dermatophagoides farina), APOLLUSKIN® tested in vitro at 0.25%, limits the skin inflammatory response resulting from the secretion of interleukin-8. With a repeated contact to VOCs, it also decreases the free radical stress caused by the accumulation of oxidized proteins.
