Digitize to liberate human potential

The myth of machines replacing humans is as old as technology itself and still has a long life ahead. And who knows, it may eventually happen! In the meantime, our friend, the computer, can be of valuable assistance by taking over certain fastidious and repetitive tasks in all corporate sectors.

Actions equally fastidious as they are vital for a company’s operations

Before successfully becoming paperless, it is essential to first take the time to determine needs in order to identify and differentiate what is important to digitize. It is necessary to take a step back in time and space before dealing with a relevant project. This includes all time-consuming actions for the company’s businesses, but that nevertheless of value to them. In a word, it is useful to focus on areas where humans do not contribute added value but that cannot be avoided, at the risk of imperiling the company’s successful operation. The first to come to mind are evidently a large number of unavoidable administrative tasks (accounting, HR management, etc.) but the scope is in fact broader, manufacturing operations, quality control and operational supervision. All these actions are justified for an intelligent digitization.

Make business processes flow better from end to end

The emphasis that the World Health Organization has placed on dematerialization is also an obvious opportunity to make interactions easier, faster and more reliable, by using an ecosystem that thrives on seamlessness and instantaneousness. This is of course the case for clients but also for all the company’s partners, starting with its suppliers. Indeed, the agility of the digital universe guarantees a necessary reactivity securing the best supplies (a highly strategic aspect in today’s context), as well as the management and the traceability of the entire life cycle within the company up to final delivery in the form of a finished product on which all human know-how can be focused.

Humans, nothing but humans

Because the success of a dematerialization project depends on it. Of course, the resulting financial savings are of interest. Of course, the better flow of relations both inside and outside the organization has become the prerequisite for a modern company seeking its place in a market stampeding towards the digital universe. In spite of this, the main interest remains with people: the latter is freed from administrative and technical burdens that sometimes overwhelm the purpose of the job. Beyond being digital, a strong company is one that is creative, that continually innovates by providing the means to do so. Since the first of these means is time, dematerialization is becoming a strategic issue for all aspects of a company.

Digital transformation applied to human resources

All of the company’s jobs are changing at the rhythm of digital and technological progress. Here at SILAB, the Human Resources department is profitably using these benefits to help grow the company. All HR operations are becoming paperless: administrative management of staff but also recruitment, training, career management and personnel performance. The goal is to automate processes but above all to help employees and managers with new user experiences while providing Management with analytical tools.

You will understand that the advantages of targeted digitization are major. They are direct and can even be decisive on the medium or long term, depending on the sector of activity. The most important thing, however, is clever digitization, focusing on people.
