Road safety
Road accidents are the leading cause of workplace deaths in France. To raise awareness of this issue throughout the year and during Road Safety at Work Days in May, a number of activities were organized, including regular internal news updates, videos, and a team challenge to test employees' knowledge of the highway code.
Nutrition
SILAB started from the observation that nutrition is one of the factors that protect against or increase the risk of the most common non-communicable diseases in France. This summer, an exhibition proposed by INSERM and workshops led by a dietitian and the company's nurse were set up.
Mental health
Mental health has been designated by the government as a major national cause for 2025. SILAB therefore displayed an exhibition proposed by PSYCOM and published tips for everyday well-being on World Mental Health Day in October.
Other topics recur year after year.
Cancer
The IARC estimates that one in five men and one in six women worldwide will develop cancer during their lifetime. SILAB encouraged its employees to take action against cancer by participating in a charity walk in February, with proceeds donated to the League Against Cancer. At the end of the year, Pink October raised awareness about breast cancer screening.
Mobility
Every year in June, the Mobility Challenge takes place, focusing on commuting between home and work. The goal is to promote alternative modes of transportation such as cycling, walking, bus, train, carpooling, and teleworking. Around 30 Silabiens took part, covering more than 3,600 km using alternative modes of transport.
Waste
Every year, SILAB organizes events to mark World Clean Up Day and European Waste Reduction Week. Challenges and workshops are offered to help reduce and sort waste as effectively as possible.
Disability
In addition to Duo Day, this year's giant Handipoursuite game provided an opportunity to learn more about disabilities, both visible and invisible. Prepared by disabled workers at the ESAT “Les ateliers du Puy Grand et de la Vézère” a few kilometers from the company, gourmet baskets were given to participants.
The participation of our subsidiaries
Our international collaborators are also taking action on issues that are relevant to their countries.
Biodiversity and waste
In the United States, teams participated in an initiative dedicated to protecting ecosystems by planting beach grass and collecting plastic waste along the East Coast.
In Japan and China, the World Clean Up Day waste collection initiative was also carried out.
In Singapore, our team worked to rewild a protected area.
