The healing efficacy of CICACTYL® was initially demonstrated through a clinical study conducted on a cohort of adult Caucasian subjects having undergone a mechanical aggression by strippings. In addition to this data, SILAB now unveils the efficacy of CICACTYL® following treatments by fractionated non-ablative or ablative laser on two additional cohorts.
Aesthetic procedure by fractionated non-ablasive laser
The aesthetic procedure of rejuvenation by fractionated non-ablative laser may cause the appearance of erythema and a deterioration of the barrier function.

Along with an aesthetic procedure of rejuvenation by fractionated non-ablative laser, CICACTYL® formulated at 1% leads to a significant recovery of the barrier function of more than 90% in only 48 hours of application, compared to only 63% with the placebo. In addition, the active ingredient significantly attenuates the cutaneous erythema following the aesthetic procedure, an effect observed in 92% of the volunteers.

Aesthetic procedure by fractionated ablasive laser
The use of a fractionated laser in ablative mode may cause the appearance of erythema, dehydration of the skin that reaches its maximum 7 days after the procedure and a deterioration of the surface of the skin in the zone of the wound that reaches its maximum 4 days after the procedure.
On this type of skin lesion, the zone treated with CICACTYL® shows a favorable improvement in erythema. Indeed, as of the first 24 hours of application, erythema is three times less severe compared to the zone treated with the placebo. In addition, CICACTYL® favors skin rehydration and improves skin repair quality after the laser procedure.

All these results show that CICACTYL® is an effective care product, is well tolerated and combines rapidity of action and efficacy in the care of wounded or damaged skin requiring repair.
